At the joint press conference with John Kerry and Sushma Swaraj, a journalist did a number of sorts on the US secretary of state. He asked "whether India has raised the issue of Bill number 744 with US and what assurance did US give to India on the Bill." Kerry was clearly at a loss but Swaraj swiftly replied that India had indeed raised the issue of the draft immigration Bill with the US. When it was Kerry's turn to answer, he confessed that he was not aware what Bill 744 was all about. That's because, he explained, in all his 29 years in the Senate he knew Bills by the names of those who introduced them and not numbers. So he thanked Swaraj for helping him out.
