The president of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, M Devaraja Reddy, seems to have a soft corner for journalists from his home state, as he kept answering questions in Telugu during a press conference. Hyderabad, incidentally, was the biggest contributor to the Income Declaration Scheme, and the institute is said to have contributed significantly to the success of the scheme.

After the main conference was over, as journalists from the Telugu media continued to bombard him with questions, he started an impromptu conference in Telugu, giving sound bites and statements. Some members of the institute joked with a Punjabi member that he, too, should hold a press conference in his language.
