Recently, the Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha read out requests from certain MPs who sought House permission to be granted leave of absence for a month. One of those was actor turned Trinamool Congress MP Mithun Chakraborty who said he would be absent due to "prior commitments". But the really interesting one came from another Trinamool Congress MP, Kunal Kumar Ghose who explained the reason for his absence as being "in the custody of the CBI". Ghosh is being questioned by investigating agencies for his role in the infamous Saradha financial scam involving thousands of small savers in Bengal.
