Let them eat biryani

Protesters at Jantar Mantar demanding the resignation of the Aligarh Muslim League Vice-chancellor P K Abdul Aziz found an intelligent way to attract attention. When the assembled crowd started to move away from the dais, the organisers distributed free biryani for lunch. Soon, smelling the biryani, the crowds returned — to the chagrin of other protesters, several of whom were on hunger strikes for various issues.
