LETTERS: A case in point

The recent episode of the sacking and reinstatement of the staffers of Jet Airways is just a case in point. Factors such as the general economic slowdown and the dismal aviation scene are being cited as reasons for such firing trends in the airlines industry. However, they will send negative waves across the industry.

The Indian aviation firms should learn the appropriate lessons from their foreign counterparts. For example, the Air-France-KLM airline backed up by an agile management is competently catering to passenger load through on-time flight services to North America and Asia.

Apart from aviation fuel, financial mismanagement is also adding to the problems of the Indian airline industry. With better use of revenues from passenger services, airlines can competently handle the needs of both aviation staff and passengers.
