Not only is Chidambaram an architect of economic reforms, but he is also a well-known face for investors and business houses. Given his track record in the finance ministry, he has the required courage and mettle to give a new boost to the Indian economy. In this context, it is expected that Chidambaram will propose economic reforms to tackle inflation, slow growth, the regressive tax regime and so on. Needless to say, restoring investor confidence should be high on his priority list.
