Letters: Abenomics gone wrong?

The recent attempt by Shinzo Abe to shoot his "third arrow" has been underwhelming to say the least, especially considering the hype of expectations ever since he became the prime minister of Japan. The path he laid out towards the creation of special economic zones was poorly defined and woefully short on specifics. This is surprising considering that the Japanese government staff was probably working on it for the past two years. Which brings us to an important question: has the global bureaucratic morass - in terms of staff quality - floated to the top? And if this foregone conclusion has reached its nadir, what will be the impact on global political, social and economic order over the next few years? Can there be progress for mankind if the human resources charged with framing policy are of inferior intellectual quality?
