This refers to the edit “Write a book, Mr Advani” (September 25). Assuming that L K Advani is harbouring prime ministerial aspirations, it goes to his credit that he is aiming at it at an age when most feel shy of fighting even local elections. Age has not withered his mental agility and his discourse skills are intact. His resolve to go for a long Rath Yatra speaks well of his stamina and physical fitness. Advani is ready to sweat it out to achieve his political goal unlike his rival Dr Manmohan Singh, who got the prime ministership on a platter without contesting any arduous election. Advani’s suitability for the job may be questioned on other grounds (for example, disagreement with his ideology), but not because of age or ability.
