The meeting between India Inc and the finance minister turned out to be quite interesting. However, it is disheartening to note that India Inc representatives fall short of being dependable leaders — some are heading companies that are involved in major scams, while others don’t think beyond the interest of their companies. One is not sure what contribution these representatives can make that can be conducive to the growth of the country’s economy. We need representatives who can think beyond their companies and who can contribute to the economic growth in terms of employment, sustainability of business and equity in taxes.
