The handling of the political crisis in Karnataka and the way the BJP central leadership has given in to the whims and fancies of the Reddy brothers have left an indelible black mark on the BJP’s image. It is hard to believe that the BJP that expelled Jaswant Singh for writing a book on Jinnah has now fallen prey to such political blackmail in Karnataka.
Worst of all, the BJP leader L K Advani, who had earlier called for returning black money stashed in Swiss banks to India, is now providing power and shelter to self-styled politicians in his party’s first-ever government in Karnataka.
The BJP no longer has any basic values or morality. The party badly needs a leader who can take it in right direction.
