Letters: BJP's U-turn in Jammu?

Business Standard New Delhi
This refers to the Chinese Whisper "Omar rubs it in" (December 31). Like any other party, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is also eating its own words to promote its political interests. In the run-up to the Assembly elections in Maharashtra, this BJP had slammed the Shiv Sena for its shenanigans in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation. But post elections, the BJP accepted Shiv Sena as its coalition partner after some hiccups. The same thing could now happen in Jammu & Kashmir. During the Assembly elections, it had flayed the Peoples Democratic Party and the National Conference for following dynastic politics. Short of a majority in the state Assembly, the BJP is likely to patch up with one of these two regional parties, depending on which of them serves its political agenda best. Like other parties, it will cite facile reasons to justify its volte-face.
