This refers to the edit “Unreal estate management” (October 4). It would be more prudent, economically as well as politically, for the government to start construction projects on the land it owns, rather than selling it. The government can construct commercial as well as residential buildings as appropriate, depending on the location of the land and make them available at reasonable price or lease rental. This will provide a great push to economic activity in general, while avoiding the risk of getting mired in corruption charges. Of course, the government will have to rope in reliable contractors and, if necessary, even foreign civil construction companies with the requisite resources and expertise.
