This refers to the editorial “Managing expectations” (April 14). The BRICS nations – Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa – should chalk out future strategies to resolve key global issues like the economic crisis, climate change, food security and terrorism.
The subject of food security should be handled with care to alleviate poverty. In this context, a precise and defined calculation of the world food production is important. Terrorism is one of the stumbling blocks to global growth. The BRICS countries should take effective steps to tackle this threat.
