Apropos the article “Self-help groups or helpless groups” (October 24) by Sreelatha Menon, the writer does not seem to be fully conversant with the facts and features of the Macro Dairy Ventures Private Limited (MDVL) project being run in Ludhiana. I have my ancestral village in the area where MDVL units are located. It is noteworthy the way MDVL is transforming the lives of below-poverty-line families connected with the project and the farmers of the adjoining villages.
The writer’s views are not only lopsided but highly disbelieving. How do you attract so many women entrepreneurs if the views expressed by the writer are correct?
