This refers to the editorial "Lessons from two states" (October 20). Even after the serious reversal in the Lok Sabha elections earlier this year, many Congress leaders have not learnt a lesson. The same old stories were repeated during their election campaigns at different places. This is one factor that has decimated them again in the Assembly elections in Maharashtra and Haryana. The Congress is out of focus and the results in favour of the Bharatiya Janata Party were largely on expected lines. The Congress can come back to power only if it is able to display magnanimity in defeat, accept its folly and come out with a new vision.
