Dhoni advanced Diwali by a week and gifted a historic win over the formidable Aussies at Mohali on Monday. Team India outplayed Aussies in all departments of the game. It was wonderful team work and Dhoni has once again showed what a great cricketer he is. It was perhaps a blessing in disguise that Kumble was made to rest. Dhoni stepped in as the skipper and taught Ponting, the impertinent Australian captain, a suitable lesson. After the Sydney test, where Ponting behaved like an adolescent school boy, India came back and won over the best side in style. Sachin, Sehwag, Gambhir, Dravid, Ganguly and Dhoni contributed well whereas Zaheer, Ishant, Bhajji and debutant Amit Mishra bowled well and hunted the kangaroos out of the Mohali ground. It was a total team effort. Dhoni’s men have made history and India today is third in the ICC rankings after the Aussies and SA. It is a matter of pride for cricket fans in India.
