This refers to Nilanjana S Roy’s article “Reading on rent — The ebook debate” (July 26). The author observes that using e-readers like Kindle, iPad et al can save paper, trees and acres of shelf space, but it is noteworthy that the production of these devices uses up a lot of natural resources as well.
