While your editorial "Starving a dinosaur" (September 2) on downsizing the Food Corporation of India (FCI) and involving states may be a better option than trifurcation, you have not touched upon the issue of rampant corruption in procurement, pilferage during storage, nepotism and bribes in the allotment of private warehousing sites and, finally the problem of distribution of sub-standard food grains through the public distribution system to the end consumer.
