This refers to the code of conduct that is going to apply to doctors and the gifts they take from pharmaceutical companies in return, more often than not, for prescribing their products. Such a practice is deplorable and while the government had made it mandatory for doctors to prescribe the chemical name of the drug, most doctors continue to prescribe branded drugs. Unless the code of conduct has strict punishment clauses, it is not going to work.
