Amit Mitra need not have reacted so angrily to Ratan Tata's casual remark about not seeing any industrial development while travelling from the airport. Being an industry veteran himself, as former Secretary General of Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Mitra would well have employed some wit to point out that the road from the airport is not the best place to put up factories. It should, of course, be pointed out that it is possible to see the signboards of Wipro, Cognizant, Infosys and others on that route. Still, gratuitously insulting a veteran industrialist is not the best way to invite industry to the state.
