The 25 paisa coin brings back fond memories of the days when one could buy a newspaper with it and when pocket money of chavanni-chaar anna was considered a luxury. In fact, even Coca-cola was priced at 25 paise when it was launched in India. But small change has lost its relevance in the wake of rising inflation and now even a 50 paisa coin is accepted grudgingly in big cities.
