With reference to the report, "After Dadri, Haryana Dalit attack sparks political fight" (October 22), political parties blame upper castes for the incident in Haryana. Upper and lower castes are distinctions created by society, but all are equal before the law. Those involved in the heinous crime must be severely punished. There should be no space for them in any community.
The time has come to eliminate the ills of the caste system and protect the social fabric of society. We should not allow narrow-minded political parties to play the caste card.
