The year has not even started and India Inc plans to raise around two-and-a-half times what it did last year (“Record raising of funds in 2010”, Dec 29). This good news forgets to take into account that last year was a bad year, so any comparison with it will look good.
The real comparison has to be with 2007 when more money was raised. Of course, it is early days since the year has not even begun, and it is possible more firms will come in with plans to raise funds.
