It has been found that young people in rural India are not inclined to farming any more as agriculture yields negligible income for hard labour throughout the year, without any leave. Also their inability to afford improved seed varieties coupled with input costs rising disproportionately more than output prices has added to their woes. The government should take immediate steps so that agricultural benefits reach even the small farmers.
