The government should withdraw the Padma Bhushan awarded to New York hotelier Sant Singh Chatwal in the light of all the controversy over it. The mere fact that the CBI had withdrawn the case against the hotelier is of little consequence since it is well known it functions with a lot of political interference. What is not clear, however, is who recommended the award since the Congress party has come out against the award.
