Business Standard New Delhi
It has almost become a convention that whenever a retired politician publishes his memoirs, it invariably attracts controversy. The latest one in the case is the book written by the former central minister Natwar Singh. A few decades ago, when another politico had come out with his "revelations" about the imposition of the Emergency, it had also drawn widespread criticism. Its main point of contention was that the move to impose the Emergency was reportedly forced upon the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi by her late son Sanjay Gandhi; though she herself was averse to it.
