Letters: Not another party, please

There is no dearth of political parties in India but how many of them are worth the name?

It’s good to note that Anna Hazare has shunned political ambitions, but he took a long time to come to this decision. And, in the process, he provided Arvind Kejriwal with a launch pad to form yet another political party. Where would Kejriwal have been without Hazare and his movement that gathered such a massive support on the single-point agenda of opposing corruption?

There is no dearth of political parties in India but how many of them are worth the name? Adding one more to the melee will only lead to more confusion. Before contesting elections, will Kejriwal declare that his party will not form coalitions since he and his team are opposed to present-day parties or will he join them to score political points? It is smaller parties and splinter groups that have become the bane of the country as we can see with Mamata Banerjee throwing tantrums.
