This refers to ‘Toyota mulls small car launch under Daihatsu brand’ (Aug 25). I would like to point out that the report regarding the Daihatsu brand is incorrect. There was no mention of Daihatsu being introduced in India at any point during the press conference at the Fortuner launch that was held on August 24, 2009. Toyota Kiloskar Motor Pvt Ltd (TKM) would like to reiterate that as per our current plans, the compact car will be sold under the Toyota brand name and not under any other brand name.
