Apropos the edit “Railways going downhill” (October 4), more than the budget, the railways need vision to grow. A chronic issue is the dismal level of comfort and services offered to passengers. Lack of clean drinking water and poor sanitation add to this. The so-called cash surplus should be used in this direction to upgrade the services and facilities offered in the railway sector.
