“Road to development”, March 30, makes the right point — if state governments are not really interested in providing land for roads, then the Central government is right to ignore them and just concentrate on the states that are providing the land. Of course, this will ensure that the developed states will pull even further ahead. Unfortunately, till voters don’t start voting on the basis of development work done by politicians in their states, little can be done to change this state of things.
