Latha Jishnu’s ‘Why they love Narendra Modi’, January 31, criticising corporate chieftains for praising Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi has hit the nail on the head. Corporate India is not concerned about innocent citizens getting slaughtered for their religious beliefs, or about the culture of hatred spread in the name of religion. All it cares about is the profit it earns, and the subsidies it is able to get in the name of development. When such well-known industrialists, whom we look up to for their ethics and good governance standards, behave in this manner, why blame ordinary folks who fall for Modi’s charms?
