This refers to your editorial ‘Code Red’ (September 3) on the Direct Taxes Code. MAT requires to be dropped as the proposed version of MAT would certainly make such projects unviable.
Further, wealth tax needs to be withdrawn completely because the yield from this tax is little and the tax would unnecessarily cause undesirable behaviour among tax payers by moving their share holding.
