Letters: Road to the next revolution

This refers to the editorial “PM boosts confidence” (April 4). There is no doubt about the fact that India has the strength and ability to fuel the next industrial revolution. However, the country has to fare well on one important indicator — productivity. In China, productivity has been fuelled over the years by substantial investments in education, technology and health. India, too, needs to take effective measures to score well on all development indicator.

Another big obstacle to our nation’s growth is the bureaucracy that persists at all administrative levels. In this context, India should learn from the Maldives, which follows the principle of “belief-in-business-over-bureaucracy”.

 

On the whole, good governance, sans corruption, is vital for India to achieve growth.
