Getting well-known economist Raghuram Rajan as an advisor to the prime minister is a master stroke and is aimed at telling both international as well as local investors that the prime minister has the best advice on hand to tackle the crisis. It remains to be seen if the government will now listen to Rajan — an earlier report by him continues to adorn the shelves of the Planning Commission.
