The decision to ban Chinese equipment suppliers in sensitive border states hasn’t come a day too soon. Every other country in the world indentifies certain sensitive countries from where investments are not welcome.

The government must not bow to the telecom companies who have already started making noises about their capital costs going up. In the past, after raising security concerns about Chinese companies, the government has always backed down.
