This refers to Avirup Bose's article "A case of consumer-unfriendly brands" (November 27). Though online shopping is an easier option than driving to crowded markets and standing in long queues, the charm of traditional shopping is missing. Before the online shopping era, people would enjoy bargaining and going out and shopping with their family on the weekends.
As more and more products are bought online from the comfort of one's home at the click of a button, the need to physically go to market has reduced. The flip side of this convenience is that the sedentary lifestyle would result in men and women expanding horizontally. But technology will definitely come out with a new gadget to burn their fat by ensuring that user has run, jumped and jogged for miles together sitting at home.
