Letters: Still some space to fill

The editorial, “Favourable trade winds” (October 16), highlights export trends that are expected to bring cheer. The trends are expected to continue with a favourable global trade situation, locally easing goods and services tax (GST) woes and reduction in oil prices. This apart, value-added tax exemptions by some states are expected to reduce the cost of exports and give them the much needed competitive edge.
 
There is still space to fill, with easy export norms and procedures to take exports further ahead. One could be doing away with quantitative caps on export products, especially agro products, besides reviewing free
