The headline “Donations to religious bodies to be fully taxed” (June 24) is incorrect. One can make donations out of income which has already been taxed because the sources are taxable, or one can make donations out of tax-free income, like income from farming. In the first case, there is no further taxation of that donated amount; only the deduction for donation will not be available. In the second case, denial of deduction would not make any difference.
