The news item ‘GE sees healthy gains in low-cost medical devices’ (November 16) on General Electric’s low-cost medical devices is great news for the country’s poor. Very cheap portable diagnostic machines, whose reports can be emailed to physicians in distant locations, could revolutionise health care in India.
