Anna Hazare’s decision to go on a fast does not seem to be justified considering that the government has brought a draft Lok Pal Bill before Parliament. Hazare should wait to see what final shape it takes and how Parliament reacts to it. Such a step would convince everybody of the legitimacy of his actions. Since Independence, Parliament has enacted many excellent laws and Acts. To accuse the government and Parliament of not being serious about the Lok Pal Bill is to scoff at the entire lot of Parliamentarians and this goes against the grain of our democracy.
