Given the inability to control the creation of black money, hoarding and shady transactions, the effort to curb inflation becomes ineffective. Hence, it’s better to leave food prices unchecked so that people shy away from spending on consumption. This will bring down prices. The poor take to such thrift when prices are high. People who suffer should be left to their fate. Life will teach them how to save.
