Politicians who continue to divide the country along caste and religious lines should read your analysis (‘Development gets votes’, April 21). Even Hindutva’s poster boy, Narendra Modi, talks more of development than he does of religion. So, when it comes to election time, why do these politicians only talk of caste and religion? Once more states start voting for development, as you have pointed out has begun to happen in a few states, dividing India will become a thing of the past.
