Letters: White lies

‘Even MBAs lie to get a job’, October 14, is an eye-opener. Over a fourth of MBAs that took part in the survey by a jobs portal admitted to lying about their employment history and nearly two thirds said they actively looked for jobs while using their employers’ resources — that is, they were either posting resumes while in office or were registering on job sites while at work. Not surprisingly, then, that over two thirds said they would not quit if their employers were following unethical work practices.

If this is the state of morality of those passing out of the country’s premier business schools (the survey was restricted to some of the best schools), this augurs very poorly for our business. Is it any surprise then that our companies have no compunctions in bribing government officials and politicians?
