This refers to Geetanjali Krishna’s column “The merits of quotas” (July 16). There should not be any reservation for minorities, neither in educational nor in any other institutions. Quotas are a politician’s tool and help nobody but him. Allowing reservation at the cost of efficiency is not desirable and should not be permitted. In fact, it makes the nation weak because it often leads to inefficient people getting jobs or seats in institutions.
