London without the Big Ben?

Some members of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) in the Gopalganj district of Bihar held a public meeting where they demanded the resignation of party chief Lalu Prasad. They were supporters of jailed former Member of Parliament Mohammed Shahabuddin, and were angry because Prasad had not prevailed upon Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to move Supreme Court for their leader’s bail. Shahabuddin, who had been convicted in lower courts for murder, was granted bail by the Patna High Court in mid-September. On September 30, his bail was revoked by the Supreme Court and he was taken into custody again. When RJD leaders heard about the demand, one of them said, “It was funny. RJD without Prasad would be like London without the Big Ben or Paris without the Eiffel Tower. Imagine living in water and fighting with the crocodile.”
