The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which earned the moniker of the "Congress Bureau of Investigation" from the Opposition during the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) regime and was referred to as a "caged parrot" by the apex court, has suddenly come in for a round of praise from, don't be surprised, Trinamool Congress Rajya Sabha MP Debabrata Bandyopadhyay. Bandyopadhyay had been called in for questioning over the submission of travel expenses bills that were alleged to be fake. Emerging from the CBI premises, Bandyopadhyay referred to the agency as a "civilised bureau of investigation", stating that the agency personnel did not trouble him at all during questioning.
