Psephologists may be the best people to understand and study the political elections of a country, but they are not the best when it comes to fighting elections. This fact was brought out by psephologist Yogendra Yadav, who contested on an Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) ticket from the Gurgaon constituency in Haryana. When journalists asked why he lost, Yadav candidly replied, "The day I had joined politics, I had realised that the chances of a psephologist winning an election are more or less equivalent to a weatherman predicting the rains."
