The social media has gone crazy about the fact that even to write a condolence message, Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi had to copy it from a mobile phone.
Gandhi went to the Nepal Embassy to express his condolences over the death and damage caused by the earthquake in Nepal.
One would have thought he would have pressed the Youth Congress or the National Students' Union of India in service to offer help to the youth wing of the Nepali Congress (which is in power and has fraternal ties with the Congress) in rebuilding Nepal.
Gandhi decided to sign the condolence book instead.
But at least he might have been original.
He copied out a message from his smartphone, possibly unaware that cameras were recording everything. The message said: "Over the last week the world has watched in horror as the true scale of the tragedy in Nepal unfolded before us. Some wounds will never heal, but as Nepal faces the hard task of rebuilding each broken life and broken buildings, the people of India stand with you in strength and solidarity. In the years to come, we will see a stronger, more prosperous, even beautiful Nepal whose unconquerable spirit will rise above present despair and inspire the world," Gandhi wrote.
