Adda with a chairman

The first thing that strikes me as we enter the Residency Lounge on the tenth floor of The Park is that the restaurant was empty. The venue is, however, a favourite of my guest, ONGC chairman and managing director Subir Raha, and I soon discover why.

"It's a great place for an adda," he said referring to that curiously Bengali phenomenon of an informal, agenda-less conversation. He went on: "Can you find any other decent food joint in Delhi where the crowd is missing?"

 

I couldn't but agree with him. The scene didn't change over the next two and a half hours of our lunch
