Bahujan Samaj Party chief and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati is planning to add a touch of tech to her election campaign. While the BJP is trying to get its prime ministerial candidate, LK Advani, on blogosphere in a big way, Mayawati is going to be calling you on your mobile to canvass your vote — that is, a recording of her appeal will be used while calling up as many mobile phone users as possible. Whether that will work or not is to be seen, but it is worth keeping in mind that the last party to do this was the BJP, with Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s calls to mobile users during the last elections. And we all know what happened to the BJP in that election!
